My kenmore washer wobbles badin the spin mode?

There seems to be something missing on the top of the tub. you can swing it all over the place. there ought to be a stabilizer attached at the top of the tub.My kenmore washer wobbles badin the spin mode?
If it happens all the time I agree with Gene. If it only happens occasionally, you might be overloading. My kenmore washer wobbles badin the spin mode?
Hi, being able to move the top of the tub is ok, but if it moves easier in one direction then it does in the other, you may have a broken tub spring. Other wise be sure that your washer is level, and your loads are balanced.

    Have a good night
Make sure you distribute the clothes as even as possible and check the legs under the washer. Most will screw in %26amp; out to get the unit level.

My clothes washer was in storage for a year...?

and the clothes are not smelling clean after I wash them. They smell very musty and mildewy. What can I do to wash out the smell? I've run a hot load of bleach and detergent, and it didn't work. It's only 2 years old! Can it be saved?

BTW - I've been doing laundry every day for a month, and it's not getting better. My clothes washer was in storage for a year...?
Buy new water hoses and replace the old. also most washers have a lint filter if you can find where it is it probably has some of the old lint in it, remove it, and run a empty load again. Good luck! all else fails call your repair man.My clothes washer was in storage for a year...?
Every washer has places where they trap water, One place is on top of the tub in that plastic ring thats fastened there, also some machines hold some water in the pump. The only thing that might work is to lay it on it,s back for a few days and maybe it will drain out.
The odor is probably coming from the rubber gasket in the washer. Add some Pine Sol or an ammonia based cleaner, like Mr. Clean or Top Job, to a clean damp cloth, then clean the gasket well. Then wipe out the inside of the washer with the same cleaners.
You need to run your washer using a cleanser only - no clothes. Run it first using hot water and Arm%26amp;Hammer baking soda. Then run it a second time using plenty of white vinegar. You may want to put the cleansers in the rinse cycle as well as the wash. These two cleaners SHOULD get rid of the odor.
try spraying it w/ febreeze %26amp; let it sit for awhile
Maybe it is the hoses? Try replacing them.

    Try baking soda
You're on the right track; chlorine bleach is the right chemical to kill mold and mildew. You're probably just not using enough for long enough. Start the cycle with the lowest level of the hottest water you can. Pour in an entire bottle of chlorine bleach. (A small bottle should do; a gallon would probably be overkill.) Turn the machine off for an hour and let the bleach mixture sit. Then resume the cycle so it rinses out. Follow with a water-only rinse.

When is th best time to buy a washer and where?

Year around, washer and dryers are pricey! But a lot of the department stores have sales here and there. The main thing is just to keep your eyes peeled. I would try Sears first. They are always having sales on their washer and dryers.

The link is to Sears washer and dryer selection, and as you can see, they are on sale! When is th best time to buy a washer and where?
When you can afford it-Try Best Buy although very spendyWhen is th best time to buy a washer and where?
Check all your local home improvement stores weekly for sales AND pay special attention to ';scratch and dent'; sales... a scratch or dent in your washer plays no factor in its preformance... it does however give you great savings $$$$. I know far too many people who refuse to buy a scratched or dented machine simply because they think it is ';beneath them'; to own one... well I say ';nanny nanny'; and sock the extra cash I saved in to my investments and pass them people up even more financially!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah life is good ! : ) Happy shopping !
    When there's a sale.
The best time to buy a washer is when you need it. Washers

aren't like cars where a certain time of year is best to buy.

Most stores have sale adds quite often. I like whirlpool appliances.

I would just call several stores and ask for prices.
A Sears outlet (who cares if the sides have scratches)-- end of July.
i'm not relli sure bout when

but you could buy it @ sears
The best time is around August or September- RIGHT NOW! No holidays, which can jack prices up. Also, when ever gas prices go down, so do prices of everything. I'd go to either Sears or even the Salvation Army if you need one cheap. Ask to see it turned on-- so you know it works. Open a credit card acct. wherever you buy your washer the day you buy it- 10-15% discount. Good luck! And, look in the news paper!
CERTAINLY BEFORE THE NEXT WASH DAY!!!---SHOP AROUND FOR THE BEST PRICE DEALS!!!
any time appliances are not seasonal so they are always available...i would watch your local paper for ads it usually comes down between best buy, home depot and lowes..i would lean toward best buy as i found their service and installation is a little better.

A window washer is standing on a scaffold supported by a vertical rope at each end. The scaffold weighs 210 N?

A window washer is standing on a scaffold supported by a vertical rope at each end. The scaffold weighs 210 N and is 3.30 m long. What is the tension in each rope when the 690 N worker stands 2.30 m from one end?

    ______ N (smaller tension)

______ N (larger tension)A window washer is standing on a scaffold supported by a vertical rope at each end. The scaffold weighs 210 N?
assuming the scaffold is uniform weight, take moments around 1 end to get the tension in the rope of the other

the 鈭慚 = 0, take the rope tension direction as positive

    690 x 2.3 + 210 x (3.3 / 2) = T1 x 3.3

    T1 = 586N

Now moments around the other end

    690 x (3.3-2.3) + 210 x (3.3/2) = T2 x 3.3

    T2 = 314N

You can check your answers as 鈭慒 = 0, so

    586 + 314 - 210 - 690 = 0

  • My washer seems to get stuck in the rinse cycle. What is the normal amount of time it should take to rinse?

20 minMy washer seems to get stuck in the rinse cycle. What is the normal amount of time it should take to rinse?
there is not a '; normal '; time for a rinse cycle... it all depends on how long it takes to fill with cold water.

if you have a problem cold water pressure going to the washer that could extend the cycle by several minutes.

once the washer has filled completely with water, then it should take about 7-10 minutes of agitation.

check the cold water fill in the first part of your cycle. see if it has good water flow on cold versus hot. if it looks like a big difference, then check to see if crud is blocking the screen of the water inlet valve. its inside the plastic valve where the cold hose hooks onto the washer

I have a whirpool stacked washer/dryer. Water is coming out from under the washer. All lines are tight! Help!

Our washing machine did this. Water was dripping over the basin and into the bottom and onto the floor. Another time it was because it wouldnt stop filling and not completely draning on the rinse cycle. Call someone to take a look at it. Like a plumber.I have a whirpool stacked washer/dryer. That really sucks, I used to have a whirlpool Duet, look on the back if you can, and then there should be a matinece phone number, put down towels for now!I have a whirpool stacked washer/dryer. Water is coming out from under the washer. All lines are tight! Help!
If the lines are tight and not leaking, then the leak is at the water pump or the drum.

I'd revisit the lines to make sure they aren't leaking or cracked. The other items are expensive.
Sounds like the pump seals have worn out
In addition to the other answers, just for fun, look at the drain hose where it is inserted into the drain pipe. Check it when the tank is on the empty cycle to see is the water is coming from there. Otherwise, it has got to be coming from one of the other places already mentioned. Good luck.
idk.....im not gd in these things...

    Best washer?

I want to purchase a new washer. Right now I've a whirlpool %26amp; even in rented apts I've used Whirlpool. Is that the the best one or are GE/Maytag comparable. My budget is around $400. I do have a fancy for front-loading machines as I think they are better for the comforters %26amp; other delicate stuff. I checked with a sales rep at Lowe's %26amp; he says that front-loading is better than top-loading as its much efficient in water usage %26amp; spinning out excess water so that the drying time will be less. Also he suggests a stainless steel tub to a porcelain tub. Can somebody confirm if these suggestions are correct based on personal experience ? Getting a front-loading for $400 is impossible but I'm planning to check at Sears outlet where they sell dented appliances at discounted rates.Best washer?
I just had to purchase a washer/dryer for my mom. Unfortunately, in order to get a better than mediocre washer, you must pay...a lot. We went with the whirlpool cabrio HE washer, just under one thousand bucks. The dryer was less expensive at seven hundred and fifty bucks. The capacity of the Cabrio is huge, though. You can throw an entire king sized comforter in it. I know that lots of folks believe front loading is better, but I have seen clothing damaged from the rubber gasket on the door and I'd rather not hassle with it. Good idea to check for the dented appliances...you might be able to talk them down to a reasonable price, but four hundred isn't going to get you too far. Good luck...Best washer?
Well, I,ll tell you from experience. I worked with used applianced for 2 years and the Whirlpool top loader is as good as you will find. Those front loaders are nice while they work but if it goes bad, it will be cheaper to buy a new one than try to fix it.
I like my front loading Frigidaire. I bought it at Lowes too. It had some scratches on top so I got a killer deal. Then I stacked my dryer on top....and now you can't even see the scratches.

I'm not exactly sure which model I have, but looking at their site I think it's the ATF7000FS. Their price says $999. I got mine for maybe $450.

It has a stainless steel tub. I don't know if it is better than porcelain, but it looks nice.

The front loader does great spinning out the water, and it is amazing how little water it uses to wash your clothes. Make sure you use He detergent if you buy one.

Is it cheaper to wash your dishes by hand or by a dish washer?

thank you!Is it cheaper to wash your dishes by hand or by a dish washer?
There was a segment on the ';green channel'; that tested this theory out. Hands down a dishwasher was better than handwashing... However, only if it's fully loaded, and the dry cycle was OFF. I have a family of four so we run our dishwasher every other day or so. I only run it when it's full.

I also only run it at night on time delay and air dry... I've also turned my hot water heater down to 120 degrees which is still hotter water than I could do my dishes my hand. It also saves me time/energy and also from having dish pan hands! It also uses LESS detergent/water than handwashing.

PLUS depending on how you handwash you dishes may NOT be clean... A two basin approach is preferred as you can wash/rinse the dishes.... Using HOT soapy water and rinsing in clean cool water...

You also save more water by NOT prewashing dishes... Most newer dishwashers don't need to have dishes prewashed and detergents are better than in the past...

So, I think it's better to just use the dishwasher. We also have a rule of using ONE glass for the day. That helps keep the dish pile down...

Is it cheaper to wash your dishes by hand or by a dish washer?
Dishwasher providing you aren't ';washing'; them ahead and you fill up the machine in a day or so.

For us two, I still believe hand washing is best as we have so few dishes it would take a week to make a load. The thought of dishes sitting around that long is disgusting. So to compensate I try hard to limit the water I use when washing: use a dish pan so as not to fill the sink, assemble a bunch before rinsing.
By hand, most definitely. The water you use for hand-washing vs. machine washing is the same (they recycle for 1 use). But the energy (electricity) dishwasher uses is incredible.

Wash by hand if you want to save money on bills.
    Old question...lots of answers...

    http://answers.yahoo.com/search/search_r鈥?/a>
my guess is dishwasher, when hand-washing your constantly running water and its a waste, plus a dishwasher can hold MANY dishes
by hand because you don't use all that water!!!! just turn the water off when your not using it!!!!
    you will save some money if dont use the dry cycle, just let them air dry. google'; how much to run household appliances';

Whirlpool washer the timer knob doesn't move.?

I have a 5 to 7 year old whirlpool washer. When I pull out the handle and move to rinse or spin it will do whatever it is supposed to be doing at that part of the cycle, but it keeps going. In other words I had a 2 hour spin cycle last night. It seems that everything works, but maybe the timer isn't working. I don't hear the tick tick tick that I would normally hear from the timer. does this sound like the problem and if so is it an easy fix?Whirlpool washer the timer knob doesn't move.?
Its an easy fix but not quite as T-Ray suggests. The timer escapement has failed and so you need a new (or rebuilt) timer assembly. The console lifts from the front to access the timer. There are two screws, one on either side of the console at the bottom front that need to be removed. This will allow the console to lift. Unscrew the timer knob counterclockwise, and pull off the timer dial. There are two screws that secure the timer to the console. Remove the screws. The timer has either one or two wiring harnesses which are removed by squeezing the ends of the plug inward and pulling the plug(s) off. There may be a ground wire to be removed as well. Timers can be purchased through most appliance parts stores (not Home Depot or Lowes). Phone and give them the Model number of your machine for an exact replacement. The serial/model plate should be located at the rear of the opening into the machine under the lid. Reverse the instructions for replacement. I hope this helps....Whirlpool washer the timer knob doesn't move.?
Its gone, get yourself a washmachine repairman out.. they are not that much really. However that part is awful. I think probably the most expensive thing on a washer. The repairman I had told me what caused it and I haven't had to replace one since. Here's what happens... if you pull out the knob to engage the washing cycle, then you need to have it in when you are selecting a cycle. When you pulll it and and also turn it, it is very hard on the gears.. After enough times, it dies.. goes bonkers and one of your most important electrical units is useless. Good luck...
sounds like you have a gear that might be loosing some teeth, or the timer itself inside the washer might be bad. No real way to test unless you want to disassemble your washer.
    replace entire switch .
It sounds to me like the timer motor has either quit working or as someone else said, the gears have lost some teeth. Either way you need to replace the timer assembly. It is not really a difficult job. If you get your make and model number off the machine you can order a new timer on line or at a local appliance parts store.

Once you have the new timer, unplug the machine and remove the back cover from the control section of the machine. You will see the timer and it will have a lot of wires attached to it. Take your time and draw a diagram of the timer and indicate the wire color (don't forget the strip color, i.e. yellow w/ black strip) for each connection on the timer. Then remove the knob from the old timer (there may be a set screw holding it on) and then unscrew the mounting screws (usually under the knob). Now that the timer is loose from the panel, remove each wire in turn from the old timer and attach to the corresponding terminal on the new timer (the diagram is there incase there is not enough room to use this one wire at a time method). Once all the wires are moved to the new timer, attach it to the panel, reinstall the knob, reinstall the panel cover, and test it out.

Will adding more fabric softener to my washer make my clothes softer?

Yes it will. I usually put half a capful but for blankets and sheets I use a full cap and it does make it softer. I never heard of clothes fading with more but maybe they used cheap softener. I use Snuggle and I have never had a problem! Will adding more fabric softener to my washer make my clothes softer?
No.Will adding more fabric softener to my washer make my clothes softer?
you should only put in what you are supposed to because it will fade the color and some brands stain the clothes
    yes
No, put a half cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle, it will help keep your clothes smelling nice and fresh, and will remove all the soap left in the clothes..
use some borax ...it's much cheaper. add it along with your soap. it softens the water %26amp; boosts the cleaning power of the soap. then just use the regular amount of softener
I use fabric softner sheets about 3 of them and that works

Editor's review of Webroot Window Washer 6.5

Window Washer cleans all 4 out of 5 stars

This program offers a fast and simple way to protect your privacy by erasing Web browsing and application history. Upon launch, the program automatically scans your PC for supported applications, including such commonplace ones as Adobe Acrobat and RealPlayer.

Clicking the Wash Now button literally leaves your browser's cache, cookies, the history, and the temporary files list as clear as the day Windows was first installed. If you want more control, you can specify exactly what components to clean via the Wash Setup icon. Webroot Window Washer doesn't display detailed information about specific files, but it does give you a list of basic statistics. You can protect the program with a password and schedule cleaning sessions at regular intervals.

The ability to wipe free disk space according to secure algorithms is a bonus, but it would be nice if the program also could shred files and folders. In the final analysis, Webroot Window Washer has very few flaws, making it a fine pick for anyone concerned with privacy issues.

In truth, this product is NOT doing all it claims, there are other free program out there, that are just as good if not better, ***** Cleaner for one and Advanced Disk cleaner for another. 6.5 Does work properly

    by: lmm314 on 11-Oct-2007 12:47:17 PM

Pros: Im very disappointed so I have no Pros. And for those who reviewed this as ';Perfect'; obviously are not aware that its not cleaning what you think it is.

Cons: Like one reviewer said...I checked to see if it was cleaning my temp files because I also use Advanced Uninstaller Pro to clean up programs tracks that Window Washer doesnt. I noticed everytime I ran Adv. Unistaller after using WW and restarting computer, it always had a huge list of temp files to clean. I tested the program out as far as some of it's cleaning processes and it's not cleaning what its suppose to. 6.0 does though. Basically I just bought a lemon upgrade. Support also sucks because you can email them but they either wait a week or two to get back to you or just don't answer. I used to love WW and have been a big fan up until the past two years.

I've also paid a yearly subscription since it came out, so I could always have the newest version. Last year I payed again and they didn't update it once...then when my subscription was up this year, they sent a notice that a new version was and I needed to pay again.

Webroot...you need to get your act together. And lastly, quit sending me emails that my subscription has expired when I just payed a couple months ago!!!

The seals are wearing out in the pump. I often rebuild this sort of thing. Besides saving the cost of a new washer, you'll be helping the environment. Our throw-away society is dumping millions of pounds of stuff in landfills that could be fixed and used for countless more years.

First thing you need to do is seperate the engine from the pump. There should be (on most motors) four nuts and bolts that run through the engine, frame and pump. Take them out. Sometimes you have to wiggle and pull to seperate everthing. Now turn the pump over. Don't take the plate off that is closest to the engine. It won't hurt anything, but you'll just lose the gear oil out of it. Take the bottom plate off. Just remove the four or six bolts from the bottom and pull the two halves apart. One removed, you'll see (depending on the model) anywhere between two and five approximately quarter size rubber washers. Also you'll see from two to six smaller rubber O-rings. Take all these with you down to Sears or a local small engine repair shop and get or order replacement parts.

Now to put it back together. First you'll need to remove all the scale and deposits on both sections of the pump. You can do this with some kind of chemical cleaner, or I just make with some light use of a wire brush nd water to rinse. It's also a good idea to back-flush everything while you've got it apart. Put the new seals and O-ring back in the same places you took the old ones out. Carefully, being sure not to knock any of your new seals out of place, put the two halves back together and tighten the bolts down securely.

To put everything back together with the frame and engine, place the engine on the frame and run two bolt down through the frame to hold it back in place. Now, preferrably with a helper holding the engine in place so it doesn't want to fall off the frame, tilt the frame back. Stip the pump up on the engine shaft, lining up the keyway. Then turn it to line up all four bolt in the same position as it was originally. Install bolts and nuts and tighten securely.

Good luck. If it's your first time rebuilding a pump, its really not hard at all. Just take your time and remember how everything was while disassembling. Be patient and its a snap. I've rebuilt these things in the past for less the ten bucks. That's a whole lot cheaper than a new pressure washer.I have a gas powered pressure washer for some reason its coming out with any pressure right now what can it be
Your system is losing pressure somewhere (obviously). If the engine is running fine, I would begin by checking to see if the pump is turning as it should. If it is, then check to see if all connections are tight and such. How old is it? Could it still be under warranty?

If your not afraid to purchase used products..Craigs list is a great place to find local products for sale...My boyfriend and I bought our washer and dryer off of craigs list and they work wonderful..we paid 250 for the set and the man who sold them to us purchases washers and dryers and fixes them up...if we ever have a problem he is a repair man and will help us out...hope that helps...
I bought a nice dryer from the Salvation Army for $50. It still works great but I had to buy a new plug (as is sometimes required) because it didn't fit the one in my home.
moving sale look in your local paper classifieds
    craigslist
Do you have a local sears? I know around here we have things called Sears Scratch and Dent where like the sides of the appliances have scratches or dents in them and they sell them for a lot cheaper. As for the box spring, try IKEA or Value City Furniture
TRY LOOKING ON CRAIG'S LIST. COM AND THEN GO TO YOUR SPECIFIC CITY. THERE IS ALWAYS A LOT OF GOOD THINGS ON THERE FOR FREE OR DIRT CHEAP. HOPE THIS HELPS.
You can find a lot of good washer and dryers at dent and ding sales or you can also try businesses that sell second hand washer and dryers. Sometimes they have some there that still work, but no longer go with the decor of the home. Box springs can be found via craigslist or the local paper. Try to find a mattress company that is local as well because they often have some deals.

My cat has become an obsessive washer licking away a lot of her fur. Any ideas why?

Get a reputable flea treatment, preferably from the vet, Stronghold, Frontline, Advocate. She may have a tiny mite infestation that you can't see. These will treat it. If this doesn't work she may have a fungal infection and you would need to take her to the vet form some special cream. It won't cost an arm and a leg if you go to a reputable vet. I know there are some sharks out there but most are OKMy cat has become an obsessive washer licking away a lot of her fur. Any ideas why?
sometimes they do this when they are distressed, cats don't deal well with change or stressful incidents - has something happened recently? My cat has become an obsessive washer licking away a lot of her fur. Any ideas why?
My Mum's cat did that turns out it's bi-polar. Now I takes happy pills and is doing much better
may have developed grass allergy. my dog did same thing and thats what was wrong.
My cat started to lick/bite the fur off his back legs when we started to pack for moving home. Cats don't like change/stress so that was the way he delt with it. It's has been three months now, he has got used to his new home and has stopped the licking.
Allergies. A friends cat became allergic to several kinds of grass and pollen and licked all the fur off her stomach.

Take the cat to the vet and have an allergy panel done. There are several kinds of medications they can be given to treat it.

Sometimes stress can cause cats to behave strangely, but usually in the form of growling, biting, and hiding.
My 10 yr. old cat did this for awhile. Vet swore it was allergies, skin allergies but it wasn't. She was irritated, in pain %26amp; had cancer eventually.
Couldn't say, but my cat too has lost a lot of fur... and I can't be sure if it's because he's licking it off, or for some other reason. Don't think he's allergic, or bi-polar, he's the most good-natured cat you could ever want... I think a vet trip for him is in order just to make sure he's okay...
It could be allergies . You might waht to check with his vet .
Take her to the vet for a checkup - it could be an allergy, or parasites (mites %26amp; fleas can cause an allergic reaction %26amp; severe itching in some animals).

If the vet doesn't find a physical cause for the licking, it could be the way your cat copes with stress - see this link for stress in cats %26amp; how to help it: http://cats.about.com/cs/healthissues/a/鈥?/a>
My cat had this problem a while back. She was seriously thinning out. Before you do anything serious ( pills etc etc. ) try changing her shampoo it may be irritating her. Try another shampoo for a while or stop washing her so frequently a cat needs to be dirty at least a little bit. You may also want to check the shampoo bottle and see how old the cat needs to be before using that shampoo. In some cases its 12 weeks others 6 months.
could be as simple as allergies or ocd (yes, cats get it too) or if along with licking, theres some biting, it could be mange (under the skin mites), causing irritation.

I was wondering if led windshield washer nozzles are illegal in Ontario?

I'll keep this answer short based on my experience here in the States. Unless your in Ontario California that is? Either way, check with your local officials then with the other departments. For instance in Wyoming, local city laws don't allow streetglow lights to be seen from a height of 6' from 30' in front, behind, or from the sides of the car. The same rule applies to the state laws, however, add the fact that you can't have red or blue because they can be mistaken for police lights... wierd I know. But to find a genuine answer, you'll probably have to contact an officer or courthouse to find out what is and isn't legal and what kind of exceptions there are out there.

In all honesty, the officer you talk to will probably appreciate your effort to verify the legality of the part your installing before they have to pull you over for it ;-).

With an energy and water efficient washer and dryer, is it more beneficial to wash small or large loads?

It is always better to wash large loads, but not always possible. The efficiency of your washer and dryer, doesn't really matter. Our new washer has an economy button, for saving water on each wash. When you think how much water you use per wash, and then multiply all other households, you realise how much water is wasted. As far as dryer goes, it is a well-known fact that driers do eat up the electricity, even the energy-saving ones.We use a plastic drying rack, indoors , or outside when possible.Only use dryer when wet. Good Luck! With an energy and water efficient washer and dryer, is it more beneficial to wash small or large loads?
Large loads. No matter how efficient they are, the less often you wash, the less you use. With an energy and water efficient washer and dryer, is it more beneficial to wash small or large loads?
Wash as much as you can without overloading it. For instance, my Kenmore HE3 says it will wash up to 24 towels---NOT!!! That's too many and they don't get as clean as I like. I wash 8 towels at a time, maximum. On the other hand, you can put in more whites and light clothes that don't weigh too much.

  • My CELL PHONE WENT THROUGH THE WASHER!!! Help...any suggestions on how to dry it out,or get it to work again??

I left my cell phone in my pants pocket and it went throug the washer. Now the screen is filled with water, and it wont turn on...someone told my to put it in the oven on a low temperture...any idea's or suggestions on what i can do to dry it out or make it work again? My CELL PHONE WENT THROUGH THE WASHER!!! Help...any suggestions on how to dry it out,or get it to work again??
Good luck with that...I dropped my motorola in a sink full of water...it was in there for maybe 3 seconds...it's shot and worthless now. I left it sit, taken apart, didn't even try turning it on for 3 days, it just laid there and dried. If it was in the washer, that means it was in water for what, 20 minutes? I don't think it will be working again. Putting it in the oven won't help either. Once the water gets to it, it's fried. You'll have to get a new phone....even if you had a warranty, it doesn't cover water damage. Sorry! My CELL PHONE WENT THROUGH THE WASHER!!! Help...any suggestions on how to dry it out,or get it to work again??
2 things. One, leave it out to dry without the battery in it. try a blowdryer perhaps. It may not work again but you may be able to get your contact info out of it. Do not give it any power or battery for a couple days. 2. Italien chick is not Italian until she spells it right.

    ~whyte guy
You can try soaking it in alcohol, which is hygroscopic and will attract the water, or heat the phone very slightly (using a computer monitor or body heat).
Put it in the dryer. Oh yea, keep it in your pant pocket when you do it.
    Time....

I've had the same problem with my kid's mp3 player and after some time, letting it dry out for a couple of days, it was ok. BUT.... your screen may have soe glitches, also since it is a cell, it may not work correctly. But my best advice is time. If you can, place it next to a vent, fan, or warn air supply. An oven does NOT sound very viable.
Time for a new phone --- insurance will not even help
Wouldn't try the oven because the lowest temp is usually too high and the phone might melt with direct heat.

Open the phone, separate all the parts, battery, simpack, front back and lay all the parts on top of a towel over the radiator. leave for at least 3 days until thoroughly dry and charge it up well and then power on. This has worked for me on more than one occasion. One word of caution though, the water may have short circuited the system. But try my suggestion because it worked on a phone that had been out in the rain for 2 days in the garden, dropped getting into the car. If all else fails count your blessings that the simpack still works. Good luck.
time for a new phone, even if you get it dry it still may not work. But I suggest positioning it so the water will leak out and let it air dry. Don't shake it or anything.
    muhahaha you are soo busted
My Samsung cell phone went through a complete wash cycle in my jeans pocket. After drying out for about three days, it worked just fine for three more years. Remove the battery and let it air dry. It is worth a try. I would not recommend putting it in or near a heat source.

Water went under my washer/dryer. They still work, but can they have problems later because of this?

you should not have a problem...

I have a hard drive that i salvaged from a cable box DVR, that i left in a box outside all last winter, it got rained on, the box was filled with water, frozen, and defrosted.... after drying out... the hard drive still works... similar thing happened to a TV of mine... my iguana pissed in it... it would not turn on for a while... i put it in the closet... a few months later when i was cleaning my closet out, i tried the TV and it worked for several years afterwards... i gave it away.. but think its still working to this day...

so, even if your electronic components of the dryer were in contact with water, and they dried off, they should work fine....Water went under my washer/dryer. They still work, but can they have problems later because of this?
Only maybe rust later onWater went under my washer/dryer. They still work, but can they have problems later because of this?
Just adds to the rust unless you live in a dry climate. Nothing to worry about unless the washer and dryer were in deep water as during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and surrounding areas. Black water (water that is really filthy) inside the areas where you clean the clothes is the only concern. But I doubt that is what you are asking about.

How do I clean my washer so it does not smell musty?

What I sometimes do is run an empty cycle (no clothes) with bleach and detergent.

It seems to help. How do I clean my washer so it does not smell musty?
Run it without clothes in it and put Lysol in the water. Also you should always leave the lid up after washing clothes. That way it can dry out completely and not get a musty smell. How do I clean my washer so it does not smell musty?
I am assuming that you use Clorox with some of your wash-loads. If this has not helped try running a empty wash-load with a gallon of inexpensive, white vinegar. This should solve your problem. Good luck and Happy New Year!
Bleach is a good place to start.
White vinegar is the safest. Depending on size of your washer and how bad it smells, run 1-2 cups in with hot water wash. If you have a ';Soak'; option, use it.
The aforementioned bleach ideas are good solutions, but THEN, every now and then, leave the washer lid open between use in order to allow it to completely dry out ... it is the trapped moisture and lint which is causing the moldy odor and can eventually lead to rusting, especially in more humid areas of the country.
Fill it with water and 1 cup of vinegar and let it run a cycle. Adding vinegar to the rinse water periodically also gets rid of lint in the hoses. Good for towels, too. It makes them more absorbent.
Fill it with hot water and 2cups of bleach, then run it thru a cycle. Then just leave the lid open when you are done....
Run a full cycle with bleach or baking soda.
Leave the door open unless your washing clothes.

I leave mine open when I'm not using it.

    Otherwise it stinks.
2 cups of beach, fill washer with hot water no clothes run a complete cycle,I do this every 2 months not only does it clean the washer but the hoses as well
run it empty threw cycle with 1-2 cups of 20 muleteam borax, you can find it where you buy your laundry soap, also good for cleaning many other things
    Make sure no clothes in.

Do NOT add any soap / rinse aid

    Set to Boil Wash

    Repeat

It is remains of old soap gunk (a sludge) that often seems to make this happen, but a boil wash (with no more soap) often gets things clean.

this happens especially if you never have to do a proper boil wash anyway (towels etc)

Washer fluid where coolant is supposed to be.?

i just bought a 1998 plymouth neon expresso, and we think the previous owner filled the coolant area with washer fluid. Is this bAD for my car? What will happen if i leave it in there and drive around? and should i take it to get flushed?Washer fluid where coolant is supposed to be.?
GET IT FLUSHED when you can dont drive the car for more than an hour until fixed

halfway up is very bad for the engineWasher fluid where coolant is supposed to be.?
theres a hose on both you can remove and drain flush with water hose might take 30 mintues really if over flow has window cleaner best you drain and flush radiator since your coolant has cleaner in it as well either way might take 30 minute to a hour to replace
Uh yeah, of course it is. Why don't you put motor oil in your wiper fluid though, just for shits and giggles.

You can drain the coolant yourself.

    The end.
why do you think that? if it is soap it will foam up and not cool rite. drain the radiator and refill if in doubt. maybe a hydrometer will give you a clue to what the fluid is.
yes get it flushed a.s.a,p,the way it is now will make your car run hotter and could lead to more problems
take the reservoir off and empty it out, put it back on and use anti-freeze. flush out the cooling system and change the thermostat.

What happens if you put washer fluid in brake fluid container?

You'll have to flush your brake system out. Even if you haven't applied the brakes yet, you will never get all the contaminants out of the reservoir. If you don't know how to bleed your brakes, then take the vehicle to a repair shop. What happens if you put washer fluid in brake fluid container?
You will not be able to stop your car.

You better tow it in somewhere and have it drained, flushed and properly filled. What happens if you put washer fluid in brake fluid container?
    A clean Brake!!!!
Uh, your car won't stop when you hit the brake pedal. But at least you'll have very clean brakes.
well, its not good. You'd better have a mechanicly minded person clean out your brake lines for you. You will probably have to bleed and refill the entire brake system now. dont be driving it anywhere. brake fluid doesnt compress like water does. it has to be solid in there to push your brake calipers shut.
    ';Is This Real??';

No Brakes, Destroys Seals in Master %26amp; Brake Cylinders!!
if you do drive, keep one hand on the handbrake, and familerise yourself with the concept of slowing down using the gearbox, and not having a brake pedal....
let's c I did that once in a 50 ford and it worked but it's unsafe the water will boil and then hard pedal and no brakes do not do this (it was an emergency on the ford} ray in monterey
Best case scenario: You would have to completely and thoroughly flush the brake system.

Worst case scenario: You would have to completely and thoroughly flush the brake system, as well as replace all of the rubber components (seals, o-rings, etc.)

Either way, it would definitely NOT be safe to drive the car with washer fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.
    I wouldn't trust my brakes!!!
your brakes should still work (water is pretty incompressible) but it would be very unsafe for you and the car. It could potentially hurt brake related parts, the soap could hurt seals. It can freeze, boil, and hold bubbles well. You will have to bleed the system until all the water is out
It doesn't sound good so I suggest you shouldn't do that.
You will probably have to have all of the rubber components in your brake hydraulic system replaced.
You will mess up you brakes. You will need to do a complete brake line cleanout, bleed the brakes, and start all over. Until then, you may not have any brakes.

If you are talking about the container that the brake fluid comes in, throw it away.
Container meaning reservoir then you should have the brake system flushed out with fresh fluid something recommended you do every two years if your system uses DOT 3 or 4 brake fluids.

DOT 3 and 4 brake fluid are glycol based and will absorb moisture over time causing corrosion and lowering of the boiling point of the brake fluid. Which in turn will cause problems during hard braking. Washer fluid is mostly water so not good, have it serviced soon.
suck out all you can wtih a turkey baster, then take it to a midas like place for a complete brake flush- 70 bucks. The water will rust and corode your brake lines and calipers if you don't completely flush it, causeing big buck repairs.
The brake fluid container will become much cleaner.
OH CRAP!, MY COUSIN DID THAT ONCE.

nah, you'll just have shiny disc brakes.

    you'll find out, won't you?

How can I get highlighter and felt tipped pen stains out of my clothing?

Highlighter: Soak garment in salt water and then freeze it. Pen: Soak pen ink stains on in rotten milk. First rot some milk in sun, then once rotten strain the lumps out and put the lumps over the pen ink stain. Then you need to wash the clothing in the washing machine. it sounds gross but according to this it works :P

    Removing Ink From Clothes

The easiest way of removing ink stains from clothes is to first dab the stain with an absorbent material such as a sponge or kitchen towel. Follow this by spraying a fine mist of hairspray over the stain. Dampen a cloth with a solution of part water and part white vinegar and damped the area every 5-10 minutes until the stain has begun to lift. When the stain has disappeared, wash the garment in a normal 40 degree cycle. This method should not be used on delicate fabrics, whereby using a mist of hairspray and blotting may be sufficient.

    Removing Ink From Fabrics

If the ink has leaked onto your leather suite, try using a damp cloth to soak up any excess. Applying a small amount of cooking or olive oil may help to prevent the stain from engraining deeper into the leather. This initial phase should be followed by applying a leather cream that is specifically created to clean these products. The cream should be applied fairly generously and left to help lift the ink from the material. Unfortunately no 'make it at home' formula is guaranteed to remove ink stains from leather and a specialist product will normally have to be used. If your wooden surface has been affected by an ink stain, wash the area gently using hot soapy water with a spoonful of salt added. This will act as an abrasive to try and remove the ink from the top layer of wood. This action should be quickly followed by applying a wood polish before the area fades. This is very important in maintaining the overall look of your wooden surface. If white or very light fabrics have been stained, try using a squeeze of lemon juice to the area. Leave to soak in for an hour then rinse with cold water. This should only be used on light fabrics as the lemon juice may cause colour damage to darker fabrics.

Ink is something we use everyday but can cause some very nasty and stubborn stains. Many items such as sofa, carpets and curtains may need specialised cleaning techniques to remove the stain fully.

I have enclosed links to verify

The stains might be set in because they went through the wash, but try some hair spray or rubbing alcohol, then a stain pre-treater.

Dryer not working...it's one of those kind with the washer on the bottom and dryer on top.?

When I turn the knob, it just simply won't go....there is a sound like it wants to start and you can even hear the whine when you try and get it to dry. What could be wrong with it? Can it be fixed and for how much? We've had it for five years.Dryer not working...it's one of those kind with the washer on the bottom and dryer on top.?
It sounds like the start capacitor has gone bad. In single phase motors (like the one that spins a dryer drum) it uses a capacitor to start up. If the capacitor has gone bad the motor will ';whine'; and seem like it wants to go but it won't. Provided this is the problem it's easy and not too expensive to fix. Find a friend that's an electrician and have them get you a new start (or run) capacitor. This should cost around $50-100 to fix.Dryer not working...it's one of those kind with the washer on the bottom and dryer on top.?
I'm sure it can be fixed, you say it's 5 years old. It may cost $175-250 to repair. Would you want to put that much money in a 5 year old machine.
rule of thumb....washer or dryer older than 4 yrs will cost more to repaire than its worth..........

We have had a recent bout of cold weather and my washer is out in the garage. I just went to do laundry and ?

my pipes appear to be frozen. I don't even know where to start with this problem. Do I call a plumber? Is there anyway to thaw them fast and hope that my pipes don't burst. Any help would be appreciated. We have had a recent bout of cold weather and my washer is out in the garage. I just went to do laundry and ?
Your hoses are probably froze as is the water valve that can bust and cause a flood, also there is a pump inside the cabinet that you can't see, also the pressure switch pick up tube can freeze and break. A washing machine is not designed to be frozen. I would not try to use it until it is completely thawed. If possible, un hook it and take it in the house and it will thaw by tomorrow morning. If you suspect another freeze, take the drain hose and lower it to the floor and drain the water, then put it back in the drain and remove the fill hoses. A little rv antifreeze in the tub wouldn't hurt a thing, just rinse it once before you wash clothes. Hope this helps! We have had a recent bout of cold weather and my washer is out in the garage. I just went to do laundry and ?
Open the water valve and try a hair dryer or a heat gun if you don't think it's been frozen too long. Also, any small space heater like a ceramic job will also work and you don't have to ';babysit'; it. In the future, buy a heat tape for the lines.

I wouldn't call a plumber unless the pipes burst.
Turn off the water supply to the garageDisconnectt the washer water supply.Try a hair dryer on the lines. Move the washer in to the house for a day and drain it. Sorry, but you are going to be buying a new washing machine if you leave it out there to freeze any further.
An electric hair drier works pretty good.

I rinse off the dishes, especially ';chunks'; of food, because I typically run the dish washer once per day, in the evening...anything that might get dried on, like oatmeal, I will make sure there is no residue in there to get ';cooked'; on by the dishwasher.

If I have a big load, such as after a dinner party, I do not pre-rinse, as I have a food grinder built into the dish washer. I rinse only when I know the dishes will sit all day before being washed.Do you wash the dishes before putting them in the dish washer or do you just put the dishes in?
I just put them in. Sometimes they need to stay in a few cycles to get clean.

Whirlpool makes Kenmore products, so if you buy a Kenmore (or Maytag) you are really buying a Whirlpool product.Which brand offers good Washer and Dryer? KenmoreVs whirlpool Vs LG?
I have a whirlpool front loader and love it
They are all equally good but the models of the former two - Kenmore and Whirlpool - may be somewhat traditional; whereas LG being relatively new may have some new ideas added to the making of their products!
Well so far I have had all the brands you mention, but the one I have had the most luck with is Whirlpool brand, they are know for the fewest most reliable appliances, so if you are in the market for a washer and dryer buy Whirlpool. Good Luck !

About my washer & dryer. I just bought a used washer & dryer; it was VERY cheap and works great.?

Lately, I've been noticing a mildew-like smell in the washer. I'm not sure if it's my water or something I did. (the water in the rest of the house smells fine.) I tried running bleach through an empty cycle and it didn't take the smell out I know you get what you pay for, but is their way I can fix this? Anyone have any ideas on what I could do?About my washer %26amp; dryer. I just bought a used washer %26amp; dryer; it was VERY cheap and works great.?
since its used check to make sure there isn't a left over wash cloth or other item that got stuck under the washer or that there is a small leak somewhere. also check the lint basket, some washers have them just like dryers do and make sure you check up under the rim above the washing barrel, sometimes lints and debris can get stuck up under there. it takes very little to get that mildewy smell. also try running either baking soda through it, 1 small box in the regular cycle, no clothes though, then make sure you run a rinse or oxyclean detergent. hope this helpsAbout my washer %26amp; dryer. ok this is only a suggestion, fill washer with hot water only an half box to full box of cascade detergent an select longest cycle, then each time you do a Load of laundry add downy softener to rinse cycle. Really believe the washer is fine, but also believe your leaving cloths in washer too long after they've washed try an remove more promptly.
If you have a mildew smell in the washer there has to be a collection of water somewhere in the machine to make this smell. Do you have a guarantee? Even if you don't try asking the person you bought it from. Buying used appliances is always risky. Unless it is being sold because someone is moving and can't take the machine with them (and it is fairly new), don't buy it. I've never heard of anyone selling good appliances. They sell them when they pretty well worn out.
Run it on empty again, but use vinegar instead of bleach.

  • My Admiral washing machine keeps over flowing. Anyone else have this same problem with this same washer?

The load size lever doesn't work all of the time. I tried to look on the web to see if these machines have been recalled for not working correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My Admiral washing machine keeps over flowing. Anyone else have this same problem with this same washer?
There is a water flow valve near the water inlet hose. Chances are it is stuck open allowing water to continue to run into your machine when its not supose to.Clean this valve and you will be good to go.This happened to me and my Admiral works fine .

PS ck WWW.Repair Clinic.com for more help.My Admiral washing machine keeps over flowing. Anyone else have this same problem with this same washer?
Well now: Is Admiral a Montgomery Ward product, if it is, isn't it kind of old? It could be the control switch. These are all usually put together in the same unit and it would have to be changed, it could be old and just worn.

Other than this, you could call several used appliance places and see if they have an universal part or a part that would fit. Maybe they'd have an idea since they deal with older appliances all the time.
LMAO...don't you know the Admiral always goes down with the ship?!

    use a steering stem socket...

the proper tool comes on my bike's factory tool kit under the seat, you might be as lucky...

and kyle, most modern sport bikes have clip on handle bars...for someone who's going into the MSF training, you don't know so much about sport bikes...How do you remove the Steering stem lock-nut and washer from 06 GSXR 600? I need to install handle bars.?
The top nut and washer do not have to be removed to install handlebars.

The left %26amp; right handlebars are mounted to the fork tubes.

If you just want to loosen the nut, loosen it with a socket and ratchet as you would with any fastener.
ok i was about to say use channel locks, but then i realized you don't need to use that for handlebars..... o.0

Why does my GE washer wash clothes but won't spin out water?

goes thru wash cycle perfect but wont release waterWhy does my GE washer wash clothes but won't spin out water?
If it is not emptying the water out there may be something in the pump or the drain line may be blocked.

If you can hear a motor running when it is supposed to be spinning your problem is in the drain line. If there is no noise when it is supposed to be spinning there is a problem with the pump or the lid switch but on some models the lid must be closed for it to agitate so if that is the case on your machine you can eliminate the lid switch.

Did you just wash some old throw rugs? I have found several of these G.E. washers drain lines blocked with the ';rubber'; backing from these rugs.

If you need further assistance just click on my name and contact me and I will be glad to help you.Why does my GE washer wash clothes but won't spin out water?
    its broke...
turn the spin dial on the, rinse cycle try it bye hand if it dosent work and just sits there ful of water its in the pump, the pump is shott have it relacedd, etc1
If it's not spinning at all, you need a new agitator. Or maybe the drain line is clogged.
Check the belt underneath the washer. May need to be replaced. (Try it on a gentle cycle too - ours worked for awhile that way.)
mine did that....i had to go across the street to spin them out......you'll need a whole new dial .....that part of it is broken
More than likely the pump is siezed up. If not that then the cycle switch is shot.
