The chances of your Ipod working again after being submerged in water are slim to none. Im unsure what Apples warranty states but I doubt it covers being washed.

You may not be trying to revive a wet cellphone or laptop, but these articles refer to electronics in general, and it certainly wouldn't hurt to try a few of these methods:
Toast. Let it dryout, it will take at least a month unless you can open it to dry,, then charge it and turn it on. It might work. Don't get your hopes up though.
try soaking it in alcohol and let it dry afterwards for a couple of days, listen alcohol bonds to water and dries quickly, dont be afraid to mess it up, you already did so chances are it wont start again, but i have had a 40% revival this way. good luck.
It is possible, however EXTREMELY unlikely that it will work again. You should dry it thoroughly, the best way being to simply leave it in a warm, dry place for a period of a few days. Don't attempt to turn it on while it's still wet. If it doesn't come back up after it dries out, there's likely nothing that can be done.
