find the model you want, i recommend LG
go online and see the deals on the same model at different stores. try home depot, sears, lowe's, costco, sams club, best buy, fry's electronics.
dont forget to calculate delivery, but look out because some of the stores might have it free
next, once you have found the cheapest price, lets say at sears, call the competitors and see if they will beat it, which they should. if they just match it, ask for free delivery and installation or something else, ask directly what they can offer to sweeten the deal

I got a very good deal at Sears. If you can manage the extra money get a front loader washer - you'll save hugely on water.
At the dent and scratch warehouse. There is one of these warehouses in every city. What does a little scratch or dent matter. They knock off about 25% on the price. Sometimes even more!
I went to future shop to check prices then to home depot and they had the same but it cost more so they matched the price and took off another 10%...This was a maytag washer and dryer
